She has a degree in Graphic Communication Design from the UAM, a Master's in Industrial Design from the Faculty of Architecture, UNAM, and a PhD in Art History (UNAM, 2009). Since 2009, she has been a permanent tenured researcher at the Bibliographic Research Institute of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (IIB-UNAM). In said institute she founded and coordinates since 2012 the Interdisciplinary Seminar of Bibliology. Since 2014 she is a corresponding researcher at the Institute of American Art and Aesthetic Research at the University of Buenos Aires. Since 2010 she is a member of the National System of Researchers (Level III). Since 2014 she has been a Mexican delegate to the Society for the History of Authorship, Reading and Publishing (SHARP) and in 2017 she founded the Red Latinoamericana de Cultura Gráfica, which she coordinated until July 2022, together with Dr. Utsch. Her lines of research are the history of the Latin American book, publishing, typography and visual culture; printed culture in indigenous languages and the relationship between written culture and gender. In these subjects she has written and published as author, co-author, coordinator and editor of more than 15 books, and more than 100 chapters and academic articles. Likewise, she has given conferences in Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Uruguay, USA, Spain, Germany, Italy, United Kingdom and Belgium.
