Pedro Cardona Fuentes is a professor and researcher at the Faculty of Philosophy at the Autonomous University of Querétaro. He holds a Ph.D. in Linguistics from the Faculty of Languages and Letters at UAQ. He teaches in the Master's program in Amerindian Studies and Bilingual Education, the Master's program in Language and Mathematics Learning, and the Bachelor's program in Education and Intercultural Mediation, all of which are UAQ programs focused on professional development in the educational field.

His work is centered around the study of indigenous languages within educational and community development contexts. His areas of research include initial acquisition of writing systems in indigenous languages, the development of reading and writing skills in Spanish and indigenous languages, as well as the creation of didactic materials to support initial literacy. He is a member of the Research Thematic Network for Rural Education and the Seminar on Linguistics and Education at El Colegio de México. He is also a member of the National System of Researchers of CONAHCyT.

Currently, he directs the UNICEF project "Literacy and Bilingualism for Indigenous Children" and coordinates the Bachelor's program in Education and Intercultural Mediation at the Faculty of Philosophy of UAQ.
