Yásnaya Elena Aguilar Gil (Ayutla Mixe, 1981) is part of COLMIX, a collective of young Mixe people who engage in research and promotion activities related to Mixe language, history, and culture. She studied Spanish Language and Literature and completed her Master's in Linguistics at UNAM (National Autonomous University of Mexico). She has collaborated on various projects aimed at promoting linguistic diversity, developing grammatical content for educational materials in indigenous languages, and documenting and preserving endangered languages. She has been actively involved in creating written materials in Mixe and producing reading materials for Mixe speakers and other indigenous languages. Yásnaya has also been an advocate for the linguistic rights of indigenous language speakers, promoting the use of indigenous languages in the virtual world, and engaging in literary translation.
