Isela Xospa was born in Mexico City in 1975. She is an illustrator, designer, and independent editor of Nahua origin. She is the founder of Ediciones XospaTronik (2014), where she writes, illustrates, and edits books for children and young people in indigenous languages. Her artistic and research work focuses on experimenting with recording systems from indigenous cultures as valid processes for learning and transmitting knowledge. She was a Chevening Scholar at the British Library for the 2021-2022 period, conducting research on the First Printed Books in Indigenous Languages of Latin America.
